Arsenal are set to make a sensational move for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney according to reports from England. It is claimed that the London club is looking at the young defender as a long-term replacement for veteran Nacho Monreal.
According to the Sun, Arsenal are ready to match Celtic valuation of the defender and conclude the transfer before the end of the season. The Sottish giants value the 21-year-old at around £25 million and are ready to listen to offers in the summer. Tierney has emerged as one of the key members of the Celtic squad since the appointment of Brendan Rodgers.
He has won numerous trophies in his time at the club and was part of the Celtic Side that went unbeaten last season.
One major twist in the transfer is the recent transfer of Brendan Rodgers to Leicester. The former Liverpool boss was appointed the coach of Leicester this week and reports claim that Tierney is one of the players wanted by the tactician.
This could lead to a bidding war between Arsenal and Leicester for the signature of the highly rated Scotland international.
Arsenal are also looking towards signing Ever Banega as a major addition to the team. The Sevilla midfielder was one of the players linked to the club in the summer and it looks like a deal could be reached at the end of the season.
Banega is seen as a good replacement for Juventus bound Aaron Ramsey and the Gunners are willing to trigger his buyout clause believed to be around £19million.
